Contemporary Romance Bundle

From our favourite short story writer comes a debut full‐length novel about sand, sun, small towns, and surfing ...

Zane Carlton is a World Champion surfer. Molly Georgiou is a shy, small‐town girl. They have nothing in common except an instantaneous attraction and an impossible quest for a rare, endangered Australian marsupial. But Zane is determined to make it work, and invites Molly to take a step into his world. But Molly isn’t ready for the spotlights and attention — she loves her town, its quirks, its characters. Opposites attract, but can two such different people find both a Woylie and forever?

Opening Paragraph:
Zane Carlton grinned as he rested his butt on the railing that separated the cycle path from the top of the dunes. He was back home in Jardin Bay to bring glamour to the opening of a new skate park. No‐one cared that he was a surfer and not a skateboarder. What mattered was that he was a World Champion surfer and a hometown boy. But for all that he was meant to be the main media drawcard; the journalists weren’t clustered around him. A few metres away, standing in the shade of a Norfolk pine tree, a bombshell brunette had the media pack salivating — and by the way she twisted one pretty foot around her other ankle, she didn’t know how to handle the attention.
‘Flip me,’ he muttered. ‘She’s shy.’

From USA Today bestselling author Maxine Sullivan comes a fast-talking, no-holds-barred battle of the sexes...played out live on air!

When Zac Ryan is roped into replacing an absent guest on a Chicago radio talk show, he decides to have some fun. After all, he's Australian, on vacation, and fellow host Cassie is something else. So when their chemistry burns up the airwaves, it’s a no-brainer to come back for a few more shows. But the difference between Cassie’s sexy on-air personality and her prickly, professional off-air self makes Zac wonder which side of her is real — and whether he’s the man to find out.

Opening paragraph:
“You want me to do what tonight?” Zac Ryan exclaimed, almost choking over his Australian
accent. Maybe he was going deaf since arriving in the States a week ago. He definitely wasn’t
hearing right, that’s for sure.
“I said I want you to go on‐air and replace our missing guest,” the spiky‐haired radio
producer repeated, as if merely asking Zac to pass the salt. “So what do you say, pal? Are you ready for your fifteen minutes of fame?”
“Only if someone stands me up against a wall and shoots me.” This bloke was insane.
Leon’s chuckle jingled the gold chains at his neck. “It’s not that bad.”
“Then you do it,” Zac said, feeling like he’d just walked into a movie, and a bad one at
that. One where the good guy—him—was about to run into a burning building.
The young producer shook his head. “Believe me, no one would be interested in
anything I have to say.”
Zac raised a brow. “Then how do you know they’ll be interested in me?”
“That accent for one thing. It’ll drive the gals wild.”

The smart-talking, quip-cracking, pop-culture addicted author of A Basic Renovation is back with a new romance for grown ups...

By day, Willa is a mild-mannered scientist; by night, she's on the trail of stolen classified documents. Technically that makes Detective John Tilbrook on her side, but Willa has secrets she can’t share...

John is instantly fascinated by the new physicist on the block, even though Willa keeps her distance. A fan of coincidence and happy endings, John has plans for the secretive scientist with the wicked sense of humour.

But Willa has more than her heart on the line — her best friend is at the top of the suspect list for espionage, she’s having trouble leading her double life, and somehow her hair just turned purple. As days speed past, Willa’s life unravels as she struggles to come to terms with her unexpected feelings for a man she just met. John’s a big fan of happily-ever-afters, but will he believe in love and happiness when Willa divulges the real reason she’s in town? Will he break the law he’s sworn to uphold — for love?

Opening paragraph:
Fear was a powerful motivator. If it hadn’t been for the fear, Willa would have had the good sense to not fall for the flattery. Her ego wouldn’t have gone on a superhero power trip. She wouldn’t have believed she was capable of saving the day. She would have told Oscar to shove this job up his Alabama butt. Instead, provoked by terror that reached down to the pit
of her stomach, seduced by praise, she’d lacked the strength—superhuman or mortal—to refuse.

A small Australian farmer battles an enigmatic French magnate in a world of exotic locations, luxurious tastes, and the most expensive flavour in the world. For fans of Emma Darcy and Lynne Graham.

Earth’s black diamonds...

Truffles are known as one the most powerful aphrodisiacs on the planet, but when Australian truffle farmer Jacaranda Riley meets Xavier Antoine, owner of a French truffle empire, she gets more on her plate than desire.

But does the man who has taken her heart secretly plan to take her home and business too?

Excerpt:
“I’m sorry.” She managed to keep her voice polite, but all her good intentions to be her customeroriented self seemed to have disappeared. She couldnt fight her energy sapping exhaustion any longer, and this man agitated her. “Please come back tomorrow. We open again at ten am.”
He lifted off his sunglasses. His eyes made her immediately think of truffles, the darkest, deepest, blackest ones, the ones that were hardest to find. His gaze swallowed her, travelling downwards, from her hair tied in a loose braid with a purple ribbon, to where her legs ended in a pair of scuffed brown leather slides.
Something fiery blazed deep inside, flaring up through her fatigue. How dared he look her over in such an appraising, arrogant manner, as if she were cattle on an outback station! He’d brand her with his mark next!
“Finished?” she burst out sarcastically.
He laughed, showing a flash of white teeth. “Forgive me. I’m a Frenchman, and in France, we know how to appreciate the finer things in life. Good wine, good food, a beautiful woman.”
“Well you’re in Western Australia now,” she snapped. She wasn’t going to fall at this man’s feet, even if Rudy had, even if her belly was still flipflopping. When in Rome, you know.”
“Ah, oui.” His face sobered, but creases stayed etched around his strong mouth. “I’m not used to your Australian customs, I only flew in today. Your truffle farm is further south than I expected. I wanted to get here earlier; I hoped to meet with Mr Tom Riley. Can I see him?”
The name hit her like a blow. She almost reeled as the pain blasted through her body. Instinctively, Rudy moved closer to her side.
“I’m sorry, no.” The words choked out. “You can’t see him.”
Irritation flashed across his face. “Why? Because you shut an hour ago?”
Was it some sort of cruel joke? “No,” she said hoarsely.
“Because I admired your legs?”

An emotional novel about not seeing what's right in front of you — and not knowing what you've got until it's gone.

Cate has always taken Nick for granted. Through a wild youth of mistakes, bad choices, and self-destructive behaviour, Nick has been the one thing that Cate could count on. She knows he loves her, but she can't love him back. He's too perfect, too strong, too caring. She has darkness in her that can't handle that much light.

When an unexpected pregnancy forces them into a marriage of convenience, Cate hopes that Nick can love her enough for the both of them. But as time passes, Nick grows frustrated and finally decides to cut himself loose. Will his absence prove to Cate just how much she needs him?

Opening paragraph:
Stop holding back, I whispered to myself, why won’t you just let go and love this man who would give you the moon… I sucked in a sudden sharp breath as my eyes flung open to the startling sound of a snapping twig and I saw who was standing in front of me. Nick smiled as he came to stand with me.
‘I would, you know,’ he smiled wider. I cleared my throat, straightening myself.

  7. Almost Mine by Lea Darragh would be my pick. I love an arranged marriage storyline in an historical romance but don't often see it in a modern day setting.
